The Accounting unit is responsible for receiving and disbursing payments in accordance with local, state and federal policies. Its responsibilities include both administrative and program functions.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office Investigative unit consists of two part-time Investigators, three full-time Investigators, one full-time Sergeant, and one full-time Lieutenant. The unit assists other local, state, and federal agencies, such as the Child Protective Services unit, Adult Protective Services unit, and the Madison County District Attorney’s Office.
The Legal unit provides comprehensive legal representation for all units within the Department of Social Services.
The Resource unit is responsible for taking and processing mortgage liens for applicants and recipients of public assistance and Medicaid.
