Madison County invites you to celebrate Earth Day at their Buyea Road Residential Station. At this event, the Department of Solid Waste will be launching a new campaign that will help residents "Rethink Waste in Madison County." This event is FREE for Madison County Residents.
Residents visiting Buyea Road Residential Station will be able to:
-Take home a FREE tree seedling (Limited to the first 100 visitors)
-Tour our Buyea Road recycling operations. Tours will begin at 10 am, 11 am, and 12 pm
-Learn about the new program changes and resources
-Bring home a refrigerator magnet and brochure
-Pick up new recycling bins
-Enter a coloring contest (for kids up to 12 years old)
Can't make it to Buyea Road? We will also be at the Hamilton, Sullivan and Cazenovia transfer stations on April 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. handing out recycling bins and resources with our updated program information.
In addition, the Department of Solid Waste will be partnering with the Sheriff's Department to host a safe pill collection during the Buyea Road Earth Day event. Residents dropping off prescription drugs are asked to keep medications in their original containers. Liquid medications and sharps will not be accepted.
