The Madison County Dept. of Solid Waste is partnering with Confidata to offer two Fall shredding events. Madison County residents can bring up to 4 filing boxes of personal and confidential documents for shredding. Business waste will not be accepted. Please note that these events could change depending on circumstances. Please check our website, Facebook page or call our main office 1-2 weeks before the event to confirm.

COVID-19 Protocol for Shred Events: - Residents must remain in their vehicle at ALL times. Face masks are required. -Please have the boxes/bags easily accessible in the back of the vehicle. Madison County employees will remove the material and empty boxes into ConfiData's totes for the shredding process.
Accepted Materials: Medical documents, bank information, tax records, and other paperwork containing account numbers of private details are ideal for shredding. Keep the documents loose in the boxes. Staples are fine.
Do NOT bring magazines, junk mail, phone books, or photographs. Please remove any non-paper items such as binders, plastic folders or metal rings.
Quarterly Saturday Electronic Waste Drop-Off Hours at LOJO Technology:
The Madison County Department of Solid Waste funds a FREE electronic waste collection program for its residents. In a partnership with The Arc of Madison Cortland, we are adding drop-off hours on the following Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM.
