Who needs a third (3rd) additional dose (not be confused with boosters) of COVID-19 Pfizer or Moderna Vaccine?

Contact your healthcare provider to find out if a third dose is appropriate for you, and if it is, where you may be able to receive one.

  • The NYSDOH has authorized a third COVID-19 vaccine dose only for New Yorkers with moderately or severely compromised immune systems. This follows the CDC recommendation on August 14, 2021. Eligible New Yorkers can receive their third dose 28 days after completion of their two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series.
