Summer Program
The Madison County Youth Bureau’s Summer Program was offered to youth residing in the county entering the 5th and 6th grades in the fall of 2021. This year’s goals were to get children outside and focused on teamwork, building self-confidence, developing positive life skills, as well as building upon positive peer relationships. Local high school students also volunteered to assist with the program through the Youth Bureau’s Leadership Program that focuses on a community service component.
The sessions were held during July and August at Nichols Pond, Oxbow Falls, Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, Cazenovia Library and Roger’s Environmental Education Center. The youth went on hikes, learned to kayak/canoe, created various crafts, learned yoga, basic first aid as well as many other fun activities.
