If you have tested positive, either through an at-home test or a test at your doctor's office, hospital, urgent care or other clinic, New York State Department of Health requires you to isolate for at least 5 days from your onset of symptoms, or from the date of your test if you had no symptoms. If you are eligible for release after the 5-day isolation period, you should continue to wear a mask around others for 5 more days to reduce the risk of infecting others.
