Madison County Youth Council

Are you a Madison County youth who is in 10th, 11th or 12th Grade? Do you want your voice to be heard? Join the Youth Council.

The Madison County Youth Council is a partnership among the Madison County Youth Bureau, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County, and BRiDGES, Madison County Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, Inc.

The Madison County Youth Council gives youth across the county a platform to share, develop, and execute their ideas to create a healthier Madison County. These young leaders will determine what issues they want to focus on and how they would like to tackle them. For students to be considered for this opportunity they must meet the following qualifications:

• Reside in Madison County
• Be currently in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade
• Be confident in their public speaking abilities and/or willing to work on this skill
• Have an interest in helping to create positive change in their community
• Able to attend meetings as required, including provide their own transportation

The vision of the Madison County Youth Council is to empower youth to form a stronger connection to their communities through service, outreach, advocacy, and education. Youth will also gain volunteer and community service hours. We are excited to be offering another platform where youth can start building foundations and forming connections to have a more active role in their communities.
