Cancer Screening & Education

The Cancer Services Program (CSP) of the Central Region provides breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings and diagnostic services at no cost to New York State residents. The CSP also offers information and education to the community. 

 Services covered for women ages 40-64:

  • Clinical breast exams
  • Mammograms
  • Pap tests
  • Pelvic exams
  • High-risk HPV tests 

 Services covered for men and women ages 45-64:

  • At-home Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) for those at average risk for colorectal cancer.
  • Colonoscopy for those determined to be at increased or high-risk of colorectal cancer (as determined by a New York State-licensed health care provider per program guidelines)

The CSP also provides diagnostic follow-up services as well as enrollment into Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program (MCTP). MCTP provides health insurance for eligible uninsured men and women diagnosed with breast, cervical, colorectal and prostate cancer. 

Screenings are available with a participating provider and on mobile mammography coaches serving the region.
