“Thank you to SUNY Upstate for bringing their mobile testing abilities to Madison County once again,” said Madison County Public Health Director Eric Faisst. “We understand that many residents in the are concerned about COVID-19 especially as the colleges are back in session, as well as the K-12 school year. Bringing diagnostic testing to our residents is the best way we can understand the true spread of the virus.”

The MCDOH receives all of the test results from the diagnostic testing.  Once a positive case is identified the MCDOH staff do contact tracing of that individual.  MCDOH has been, and will be conducting all contact tracing investigations for any positive, that includes any of the colleges within Madison County and K-12 students and staff.  Any individuals identified as being in close proximity of a positive are placed on quarantine and the positive cases are put into isolation.

The MCDOH would like to remind everyone to continue to limit how much you go out in public, wear a cloth face covering when you are unable to maintain social distancing, and practice good hygiene.  This virus is still in our community and we must all work together to limit the spread and protect each other.
