[ARCHIVED] National Immunization Awareness Month

You have the power to protect against vaccine-preventable diseases

As a parent, you want to keep your child safe. Routine childhood vaccinations are an important way to ensure that your child and community remain healthy and protected against serious diseases, like measles and whooping cough. As opportunities for in-person activities and play continue to grow, Madison County Health Department encourages parents to make sure children are up to date on routinely recommended vaccines. Talk to your child’s doctor about what vaccines your child needs.

August is also a good time to make sure your child is up to date on the immunizations they need before school starts. If your child has missed any shots, work with their doctor or healthcare provider to get back on track. There is no need to start over. You can find more about the recommended schedule of immunizations by age at: cdc.gov/vaccines/parents.
