Join Madison County’s World Breastfeeding Week celebration on Friday, August 5 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Allen Park on Broad Street in Oneida. This free event, sponsored by the Healthy Start Partnership, will bring awareness about the benefits of and show community support for breastfeeding. Those breastfeeding or anyone who supports breastfeeding within our community are welcome to attend!
Oneida Health’s Breastfeeding Connections baby weigh station will be held in the pavilion instead of its usual location on Seneca Street for this event. There will be giveaways, including free diapers and Baby Bundles while supplies last.
Healthy Families, Early Head Start, and the Childcare Council of CCE will be offering fun backyard activities for children. Tri County WIC, Madison County Health Department, Head Start, and NOEP will also be among the community resources promoting their services with interactive activities for families.
A photographer will be available to take mom and baby photos, which can serve as a keepsake. If you’d like your photo taken, it is recommended to wear a white top.
There will also be mini chair massages and light refreshments. Be sure to stay for the door prize drawing at the close of the event.
The benefits of breastfeeding are priceless. The support from family, friends, co-workers, and the community makes all the difference in a mother’s decision to start and continue to breastfeed. With your help, we can show that support on August 5.
