On January 11, 2023, the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services renewed the Determination that a Public Health Emergency Exists due to COVID-19. Renewal of this declaration allows for Americans to continue to take advantage of opportunities for free tests, vaccines and treatments.
The emergency was first declared in January 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic began, and has been renewed each quarter.
