On March 9, 2018, Sheriff Todd Hood lobbied with Sheriffs from across New York State to promote funding for School Resource Officers. The 62 Sheriffs met in Albany with legislators to advocate for the safety of our children.
The goal is to get enough funding to put at least one armed School Resource Officer in every grade school and high school in the state. The Sheriffs understand that there are many priorities when it comes to deciding where the money goes in the state budget, but hoped to make an influence and help legislators understand the escalating need for providing an increased level of safety in our schools.
