Fire Officer I - Module I Leadership & Supervision


    Fire Officer 1 Modular Series: Leadership & Supervision The Officer Development – Leadership & Supervision course provides current and potential fire officers with a fundamental knowledge of the duties, responsibilities, and leadership required to be successful as a fire officer. Additionally, this course covers the basic responsibilities of the fire officer as they relate to human resources management as well as common administrative functions. This course is based upon the requirements found in Chapter 4 of NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications. Course Length: 15 hours Prerequisite: Firefighter I, or Basic Firefighter, or Firefighting Essentials Required Text: Fire and Emergency Services Company Officer 5th Edition (IFSTA) Course number: 01-11-0152 Course Location: Locally via Outreach Operations, or Firefighter I, or Basic Firefighter, or Firefighting Essentials Required Course number: 01-11-0143 Course Location: Locally via Outreach


    Registration for all Madison County course is now mandatory. Registration priority is given to County agencies, their regular mutual aid partners, then out of county students. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the fire coordinator if they have registered for a course and their availability has changed.
