Role in County Government


The Madison County Attorney is the chief legal officer and advisor of the County, having broad responsibilities including the following: managing and providing legal services to the County of Madison, a municipal corporation having a 19 member Board of Supervisors, 600+ employees, 22 departments, and a $117 million+ budget; counseling as to municipal governance and operations, including purchasing, contracting, employment, civil litigation, juvenile prosecution, public safety, corrections, public and mental health, probation, social services, zoning and planning, highway, solid waste and elections.
