Madison County Sheriff’s Office Announces New App
Wampsville, NY - Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood announced today the release of a new, free, custom smartphone application. The app will serve as an innovative way for the Sheriff’s Office to connect with Madison County residents and visitors, providing information quickly and efficiently to anyone with a smartphone. It was developed to improve communication and transparency between law enforcement and the community.
“Providing accurate and effective communication with our community is an important part of public safety,” said Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood. “With the free Madison County Sheriff App we are able to centralize our communication and keep our community up-to-date.”
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office app was developed by TheSheriffApp.com, a brand of OCV, LLC., which specializes in mobile app development for sheriffs’ offices and public safety organizations across the country. The app offers quick access to items of public interest and is
easy to use.
Community members will now be able to receive the latest public safety news, alerts and updates from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Users can also submit crime tips, threat assessment tips, information about Pistol Permits, access to the Most Wanted List and the Sex Offender Registry. The Madison County Jail is also featured in the app, making it easier for families to look up inmate information, make commissary deposits and more.
“Over 80 percent of people in the United States own and use smartphones as their primary means of communication,” OCV Partner and CRO Kevin Cummings said. “Mobile apps offer agencies a better way to alert, inform and prepare the public. Apps allow public safety agencies the ability to reach and serve their citizens where they are: their smartphones.”
