Traffic Diversion Program FAQ
Q: What is the fastest and easiest way to resolve my ticket so that I do not receive any points on my license?
A: You can apply for participation in the Madison County Traffic Diversion program by visiting the Traffic Diversion website. Follow the prompts and have your driver’s license and copies of all issued tickets ready. Once you complete the online application, a decision will be made regarding acceptance into the program. Acceptance often requires completing a Defensive Driving course.
Q: I have applied for Traffic Diversion online and completed my Defensive Driving Course, how do I submit this to complete the process?
A: Log back into the website Traffic Diversion site and upload a copy of your DDC Certificate. For assistance with the upload, call the Traffic Diversion Help Desk at 866-250-6050 or email Help@DiversionConnect.com. Please do not call the District Attorney’s Office.
Q: I have applied, but was declined admission to the Traffic Diversion Program, how do I resolve my ticket?
A: First, verify that your application did not contain errors, as this may cause a decline. Correct any mistakes. If you need help, call the Traffic Diversion Help Desk at 866-250-6050 or email Help@DiversionConnect.com. Please do not call the District Attorney’s Office. If that is not the issue, email a copy of your ticket to TrafficTickets@madisoncounty.ny.gov and someone will provide the next steps.
Q: How will I know if my ticket was dismissed?
A: Call the Court listed on your ticket. The DA’s office sends the dismissal request once we receive payment or completion of the online diversion, but the Judge of the Court formally dismisses the ticket.
Q: I am an attorney representing a client, how do I receive an offer to resolve a ticket?
A: Use the Traffic Diversion Attorney Portal to apply for your client’s participation. You will need your NYS Bar registration number to complete the application.
Q: I do not have a copy of my ticket to apply online for Traffic Diversion, how do I get a copy?
A: Call the Court listed on your ticket to request a copy. The District Attorney’s Office does not receive copies of traffic tickets.
