Mission Statement

The Madison County Emergency Communications (E-911) Center strives to achieve the most effective emergency communications possible by providing professional, rapid, convenient and customer focused access to public safety services for the citizens of our county and partner agencies.

The Center

The Madison County Emergency Communications Center is the main Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Madison County. This center answers calls from anyone that has a medical, fire or police related emergency and is responsible for information sharing with agencies and entities involved with law enforcement and emergency response activities. There are two colleges, two hospitals, and several major state highways within the county including the New York State Thruway. The main line of the Consolidated Railroad Corporation (Conrail), crosses the county with both freight and passenger lines. Ocean-going ships travel to all ports in the world through the St. Lawrence Seaway which is accessible by Oneida Lake. The political leadership in Madison County, local municipal bodies and the City of Oneida along with the respective first responder Chief Executive Officers, and others recognized the need to do effect changes quickly before another major event occurs.
