Funding
Agencies who meet requirements are awarded funding through the Madison County Youth Board to provide services, opportunities and supports for children and youth in Madison County.
Youth Development Program Funds have been used for programs including vaping education and awareness, suicide prevention, mentoring, leadership development, supports for summer camp, after school activities, STEM programs, supports for at risk youth, and a variety of creative programs for youth to engage in productive activities. There are two sources of funding available to provide Youth Development Programs, each requiring applicants to explain how they will meet the parameters of the funding. Availability of funding is determined through the Madison County Youth Bureau budget and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
Youth Sports Education and Opportunity Funding and Youth Team Sports Funding to date have allowed access for youth to enjoy geocaching, baseball and softball, pickleball, yoga, fishing, horseback riding, disc golf, aqua Zumba, and archery. Availability of funding is determined through the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
Funding is reimbursement based. Agencies may use funds to cover all the program activities or to offset the overall cost. Separate and distinct Request for Proposals (RFP) processes are announced as funds are made available. Agencies may apply at the Purchasing webpage and follow the Purchasing Department bidding process. Timelines for submission are included in each RFP. This is not a rolling application process. It is recommended that entities interested in learning more about the release of an RFP register with Purchasing to receive announcements directly as well as sign up for information sessions made available through the Youth Bureau.
