Funding
Programs and agencies are awarded Youth Development Program funding by the Madison County Youth Board to provide services, opportunities and supports for children and youth in Madison County. Programs have included mentoring, recreation, summer programs, after school activities, STEM programs, supports for at risk youth and a variety of creative ways for youth to engage with each other and their community. Programs may cover all the program activities or are used to offset the overall cost.
There are three sources of funding available to provide Youth Development Programs through submission of an application through the Request for Proposals (RFP) process. Each funding stream requires programs to explain how they will meet the parameters of the funding.
Two separate and distinct RFPs are made possible through funds from the Office of Children and Family Services: Positive Youth Development Programs and Youth Sports Education Opportunity Funding. Limited funds are available for the delivery of youth services, opportunities and supports from January to September and must be spent by September 30th of the program year.
A third RFP is through county funding and allows for full year programming, January through December.
All RFPs are available at the Purchasing webpage and will be following the Purchasing Department bidding process. Timelines for submission are included in the RFP. This is not a rolling application process. It is recommended that entities interested in learning more about the release of an RFP register with Purchasing to receive announcements directly as well as sign up for information sessions through the Youth Bureau.
