Responsibilities
The Health and Human Services Committee is responsible for the administration and operation of all services as prescribed by the New York State Human Services agencies to include:
- Community Action Program for Madison County
- County Youth Bureau
- Housing for the Elderly / Low Income
- Madison-Cortland County Chapter NYSARC, Inc.
- Mental Health Department
- Office for the Aging
- Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and the Department of Health
- The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA)
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Formerly Known as Food Stamps)
- Veterans Affairs
- Youth Services
Department of Public Health Programs
Responsible for all Department of Public Health Programs including:
- Preventive Health Care
- Preventive Health Nursing
- Environmental Health
- Children with Special Health Care Needs
- Court Ordered Education
- ADA
- Weights and Measures
- Corporate Compliance and Wanderer’s Rest
- Animal Disease and Dog Control
