CARP
The Madison County District Attorney's "Crimes Against Revenue Program" is a NYS grant funded program established late in 2014. The goal is to combat financial crimes which wrongfully deprive New York State of funds to which it is otherwise due.
Approach
The program has a multi-faceted approach that together with the Madison County Sheriff's Office, Department of Social Services (DSS), New York State Police, NYS Workers Compensation Board, NYS Insurance Fund, NYS Insurance Frauds Bureau and with assistance from the NYS Office of the Inspector General and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) fights all types of financial fraud within the county.
The approach is to ferret out offenders within the county who seek to better themselves financially or otherwise on the backs of hard working New York State residents.
Investigate
We seek to investigate and if warranted arrest anyone who is seeking to defraud the government, individuals and the elderly.
We will seek legal remedy [to include]: Full restitution, community service, probation, and / or incarceration. In the case of DSS fraud, we seek to stop all future lifetime benefits.
